Daily Motivation: Dreams & Actions and how it applies to US

“To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.”- Anatole France

I am going to do my best to post daily quotes of inspiration and motivation.  I think it helps people to think about what they need to set forth for the day, week, or any time of the near future and reflect on themselves.

When I was looking for books of motivation, it is amazing on how many religious books and theological books were around and less neutral about overall well-being.  I think this quote was perfect for me this week as I have been preparing to open my new office.  I have purchased furniture, have been working on making the office cozy and comfortable, and getting all of the details in order for a running business.  Now, it’s time to connect with others to network and spread the word for the services I provide.

In order to have great things, you need to plan, you need to reach for your goals, don’t sell yourself short and finish what you set out to do.  What do you dream about?  What are you preparing for yourself?  How can you dream bigger but have realistic goals for yourself?

Taking Care of Oneself

It is always important to take care of oneself.  Many times we spend money on our physical beauty: hair, nails, clothing, etc… However, it is sometimes a bandaid for what is going on for the emotional self.

How are you taking care of your emotional self?  How are you eating?  Are you working out?  Are you expressing yourself or holding things in?  Are you going to the doctor regularly?  All of these are ways to take care of yourself.  Many times people get busy in their life and they become neglectful; neglectful to themselves.

Regular doctor checkups aren’t a priority, excuses are made about going to the gym and/or finding a way to exercise, fast food becomes more convenient, weight is put on, emotional barriers are layering.  I have heard and seen this cycle many times.

When do you get ahold of your life to say:

  • I want to be happier
  • I want to be healthier
  • I want to feel better

When is the question?  Are you going to start today or put it off for tomorrow?

Make your life and your happiness your priority.  Spend the extra money to go to the gym, spend the extra money to make better food choices, spend the extra money to go to the doctor, spend the extra money to get the help you need to get your life in the line you want and need it to be, to be happier.  In the end, the extra money will increase your quality of life and will make it more enjoyable.

A Girl’s Guide to Being Beautiful

I came across this article and thought it was important to share.  It is a good way to start your day.  To take control of your life and realize each day is a new day.  You have the choice how you want to make your day.  You have the choice how you want to live your life.  I challenge you to start your day “Beautiful.”

There is one moment in each day when you are completely in control of your own destiny.  It is the moment you first open your eyes in the morning, the instant the first thought of the day skiters through your brain.  That very first thought sets the mood for the rest of the day.  In the wee hours of the morning, you can decide whether to embrace life as an ally or to declare war on the world.

If you give in to your inner demons and choose the latter, you can bid being beautiful farewell.  Nobody looks good in a war.  Beauty goes hand in hand with happiness, love, and peace.  Even if you are not completely happy with your physical appearance, if you can possess those last three traits, you will be beautiful.
